Jones served for two decades, working Ladder 25 on the Upper West Side, he was awarded three acts of merit in his career in 1992 and 1997.

Deo's son Michael told News 12 that his father had inspired him to become a firefighter.
President Trump in July signed a bill to add $10.2 billion to the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, a program that covers health care for the thousands of first responders who contracted life-threatening illnesses from Ground Zero.
