A cheerleader who generated controversy online after she took a knee during the National Anthem Thursday, has been identified as Kayla Morris.
Photos captured Morris kneeling during the anthem at Levi's Stadium. She has been a cheerleader on the Gold Rush Cheer Squad for two seasons and works in sales while not dancing for the team, according to the 49ers website.
Herold, a Raiders fan who was at the game, took a photo of the moment from the stands. The photo instantly went viral.
Family members confirmed to KRON4 that the woman's name is Kayla and she's from Antioch.
The San Francisco 49ers are also not commenting at this time.
