A 26-year-old drunk driver who was sentenced Wednesday to 30 years to life in prison.
According to reports The Los Angeles Times,Olivia Carolee Culbreath, 21, allegedly killed six people over the weekend in Southern California after drunkenly speeding down a freeway on the wrong side of the road. Among the dead were four people traveling in another car and Culbreath’s two passengers, including her own sister, Maya,
'I ask God every single day to give comfort to those who are hurt by this,' Olivia Carolee Culbreath, 26, told the California court according to KTLA. 'I want people to know I would die a million times over again for any one of you.'
'I'm going to punish myself for the rest of my life,' she continued. 'I was so wrong, and I take full responsibility.'
The crash also killed Culbreath's two passengers, her older sister Maya Louise Culbreath, 24, and 21-year-old Kristin Melissa Young, a close friend and the defendant's son's godmother.
A 57-year-old man in a third vehicle involved in the horrific wreck suffered minor injuries.
Between 2010 and 2011, the teenager at the time had been convicted of a DUI and had two citations even before the fatal incident to come.
After her license was reinstated, she was warned future infractions could result in murder charges, according to NBC Los Angeles.
